They help 25,000 gaming addicts/month in 80 countries around the world. In this podcast episode, Dr Le discusses the recent live debate at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Congress debate on "Should Internet Gaming Disorder be in the DSM5?" He will discuss the benefit to the children and families, if this diagnosis was fully recognised as a legitimate disorder, versus the concerns of reducing stigma and not blaming those who suffer from this IGD. Dr Le also discusses how he looks at game design, gamer player types and flow psychology.
Cam, the founder of Game Quitters, was once addicted to playing video games. His addiction caused him to drop out of high school. This is a very common scenario faced by families in Asia and Australia.
Using his personal story, Cam has presented 2 Ted Talks and developed Game Quitters, a worldwide online movement. The Game Quitter YouTube Channel has over 30 free videos on how to quit Internet Games. However, Game Quitters is most famous for the 90-day Detox Program and now Game Quitters parenting program.
